How it works

 

  • Input signal closes relay
  • HV power supply charges capacitors
  • Input signal to relay removed, relay opened, HV supply can be removed
  • Emitter retracted, position sensor sends pulses to One Shot circuit
  • t_d later, One Shot circuit outputs signal to HV MOSFET circuit
  • signal goes through ISO amp, op amp amplifies signal
  • signal goes to MOSFET, allows current to flow to quickly change emitter bias

 

Other Stuff

  • "Pause" one shot blocks new pulses for 1 second after first pulse
  • "Length" one shot stops stignal to HV MOSFET circuit after 1 second
  • Timing of one shots can be changed by changing potentiometer resistance
  • 35.4 kOhm corresponds to t_d=21.6 ms, should vary proportionally
  • Voltage divider allows voltage measurement
  • OPA606 in white circuit takes +16V, -4V
